Laba.id
Laba.id is a financial companion for micro, small, and medium businesses: record transactions accurately without needing to understand accounting first. The idea started in September 2020 during the pandemic, development began in early 2021, and I was the first designer on it.

The problem
MSME owners have to record transactions correctly without ever having studied accounting. Existing bookkeeping apps ask you to understand debits and credits before the first line can be entered.
Constraints
- There was no designer before this. Colour, icons, sizing, type, components, the design system, and the logo did not exist yet.
- Two products at once: web for the books, mobile for recording as it happens.
The work
Founding the design side
Almost every design decision in the product traces back to this project: colour, icons, sizing, type, components, the design system, and the app logo itself. Ideas came from the product manager and the development team; the design work was mine to own.
Two products, one system
Laba Bisnis is the web app for running the books. Laba Saku is the mobile app for recording as it happens. They share tokens and components so a business owner moving between phone and desk does not have to relearn anything.
- Laba Bisnis, web, at app.laba.id
- Laba Saku, at labasaku.com and on Google Play for Android
